The Vernon Preschool Collaborative was pleased to take part in Jumpstart's Read for the Record on October 6, 2011. Over 135 preschoolers in 5 elementary schools in Vernon participated in this special event. Miss JoAnn Goldsmith, a preschool teacher at Maple Street School invited special guest, State Senator Tony Guglielmo (R-35th). He read the book "llama llama red pajama" and chatted with preschoolers on Thursday afternoon. more..... |

A message from our Principal
Welcome to the Maple Street School website. I am proud to represent the hardest working, most compassionate staff with which I have had the privilege of working. Like our mission statement states, we simply will not give up until we find a way for every child to experience personal success. I meet with each classroom teacher individually once every quarter to monitor the progress of our students. At that time, if progress is not being made at an acceptable rate, whatever resources are available are looked at to provide additional assistance to the student. We provide an incredible array of activities, programs and initiatives to meet the needs of our students.
A quote from a card I received over the summer from a parent of four children who attended Maple Street School, the last of whom graduated last June, says it best. The parent wrote, ". . . truly loved Maple Street not just for the education but also for the care and genuine love given by such an exceptional team. Thank you for nurturing them and all the students who are fortunate enough to attend such a fine school. We'll miss you, but you forever have a place in our hearts."
